Packaging Requirements

Whilst every effort is made to ensure safe transport of your goods, Paisley Freight ask customers to package goods in an appropriate manner as described below to greatly reduce the chances of accidental damage during transport.

The onus is on you, not the driver to ensure your goods are suitably packaged as described below.

If your goods are not compliant with the packaging requirements or are deemed oversized or overweight, they may be rejected by the driver or local depot. Your goods will be returned to the sender and a failed collection charge will incur.

All shipments are subject to volumetric checks at any stage of the delivery. If your package is deemed oversized or overweight additional fees will incur or will be liable for return.

Failure to comply with our packaging requirements will invalidate any liability claims.

Measuring your goods:

Length: Measure the longest side of your package from one end to the other.
Height: Measure the package from the bottom to the tallest point.
Width: Measure from the widest point of your fully packaged goods.

Unboxed Service New

Our new unboxed service allows you to send goods not contained in a structured cardboard box, examples of this are wheels and tyres, please ensure your goods are suitably protected with bubble wrap, cling film or cardboard including exposed metal.

Rims Only

Each rim must be individually packaged into a fully structured cardboard box. Each rim must be individually wrapped in bubble wrap to restrict all movement within the cardboard box. The boxes must be labelled with the full delivery address.

Each box must not exceed:

Weight: 30kgs
Maximum Dimensions: 60cm x 60 cm x 40cm.

Tyres Only

Each tyre must be individually packaged. They must be fully wrapped in bubble wrap or shrink wrap.

Each tyre must be labelled with the full delivery address.

Each tyre must not exceed:

Weight: 30kgs
Length: 1.6m
Height and Width Combined: 1.2m

If increased liability is purchased, tyres must be in a structured box.

Alloy Wheels and Tyres

Your alloy wheels with tyres can be unboxed. Each alloy wheel must be individually packaged. The exposed rim must be covered with bubblewrap and cardboard (no bare metal permitted). We recommend covering the whole wheel with bubble wrap or shrink wrap. Each alloy must be labelled with the full delivery address.

Length: 1.6m
Height and Width Combined: 1.2m

(i.e. when you add the width and height together, they should not be more than 120cm)

If increased liability is purchased, alloy wheels must be in a structured box.

Bikes

We recommend our custom packaging which you can purchase during the booking process.

Your bike must be in a structured box, not simply wrapped in cardboard. The bike should also be suitably dismantled to fit in the box. All parts should be securely fixed within the box and bubble wrap covering the frame to ensure no damage during transit. See our Bike Packaging Guide for more information. Your box must be labelled with the full delivery address.

Car Exhausts / Roof Bars

Goods must be fully wrapped in bubble wrap and then fully enclosed in cardboard [no bare metal permitted]. Exterior packaging must be labelled with the full delivery address.

Height and Width Combined: 1.2m

Kayak Paddles

Paddles must be fully wrapped in bubble wrap and then fully enclosed in cardboard. Exterior packaging must be labelled with the full delivery address.

Fishing Rods

Fishing rods can be shipped in original plastic tubing or fully wrapped in bubble wrap and then fully enclosed in cardboard. Exterior packaging must be labelled with the full delivery address.

Prams

Prams can be shipped in original packaging or must be fully wrapped in bubble wrap and then fully enclosed in cardboard. Exterior packaging must be labelled with the full delivery address.

Guitars

Guitars must be packaged in a hard guitar case. Exterior packaging must be labelled with the full delivery address.

Snowboards/Skis

Goods can be shipped in a canvas ski/snowboard bag otherwise must be fully wrapped in bubble wrap, then fully enclosed in cardboard. Exterior packaging must be labelled with the full delivery address.

Gearbox/Engine (On Pallet)

Goods must be fully drained of all oil and properly packaged and secured on the pallet making sure that no bare metal is visible.

All other items must be fully wrapped in bubble wrap and then fully enclosed in cardboard. Exterior packaging must be labelled with the full delivery address.
